WNBA 2025 Season Begins in MAY.

I still have no interest in watching women play basketball. CC Might be the one to singlehandedly make it a going concern, and more power to her. (I don't want to watch men play basketball either, equal opportunity hater)
Well Los,,, in that case, I guess I'm happy to give you an outlet thread for your hateful across the floor attitudes.... 😉
Now, if you could just improve on your attempts with some deep-diving factual reasons for all of that 'equal' hate, and why you'd waste your precious time coming to a thread like this to express your hate??? Those of us (or just me) that are interested in watching men's/women's B-Ball are itching to get to know you better... 🙄

Dude, are you just building up a resume so that you can be employed to cover her by a news outlet and get paid to do all of this work instead of doing it for free?

Fres, we all waste our time here on whatever happens to catch our attention at the moment imo.
I've been posting here and on other sites since the 1990's, always and only as the instaGATOR and always for free. I would except money if you or anyone else would like to pay me though.
😉
My only carveouts on that is that no one can ever tell me how or what to post, JMOHO's is all you'll get....

As to Clark, she is something new and interesting to me in women's basketball, and she's the first one to ever grab my attention in this way.

I always liked watching the Olympics in my early years 60's & 70's, even the sports that I knew little about and had a low general interest in,,,, BECAUSE THEY WERE THE BEST IN THE WORLD competing for the medals and the world recognition. Caitlin Clark fits that bill for me today.

Her three Triple-Doubles in just 41 pro games, and with a longer average 3 Pt shot than the top 3 men in the NBA. She set 62 records (including 337 Assists, 8.4 Ast/Gm) as a freakin' rookie. No other WNBA player has ever had a 3/2 as a rookie, while she had 2. >>> Sorry, no, not sorry for enjoying watching her perform at a 'Generational' level....

BTW, you'll notice that there are a lot (most) of the threads on this board that I never post to, with some that I've never even opened to look at or read, much less respond to. If I'm not interested in the subject then I don't bother with it. Seems reasonable to me, how about you???

Haha. Yes for sure.

And when it comes to Caitlin Clark, you are like a dog with a bone.

My only real criticism of her comes from her wokeness. All she does is say positive things about her teammates, and the women in the league that are POC, yet when shoe is on the other foot, all they do generally speaking is lambast her demean her and talk about how they don't get their due. I find that to be completely disingenuous tripe since she is the reason that this league is thriving at this juncture and stands a chance for once in 28 years of not losing a boatload of money. I think it would be better if more people were grateful to her for what she brings. At least the girls in the league were benefiting, but I guess that's just too much to ask from people who have very little clue as to the reality of the world ...

Fres, don't fall into the latest 'Media Trap' on their biased reporting. They are going 'Drama Queen' in an attempt to drive the 'attention factor' up using a false narrative imo. The best example of that is their on-going attempts to make a Clark/Reese 'long standing' rivalry scenario happen, to echo the real Bird/Magic rivalry from the distant past.

IMOHO, that's a one sided deal for Reese, as she is no real competition for Clark in any way whatsoever. Clark never brings up Reese, while Reese can never pass up dissing on Clark for media attention. Reese is just an average Pro player imo, she has some talent, but it's nothing special.

As to the 'WOKE' claim on Clark, show evidence because I've missed it. Examples:
When asked if she was like Taylor Swift and supporting Harris, she deflected (no answer) and just said that everyone should get out and VOTE, but she did not say who to vote for. Being a solid and lifelong Catholic, I find it difficult to believe that she voted for pro-abortion dingbat Harris. To protect and advance her own growing and substantial BRAND, she does not actively go against the woke faction in the WNBA. More of a business decision imo. She's into her sport and her brand, while not so much if at all,,, politics.

She has always verbally honored former WNBA players as the B-Ball hero's (mostly black women) and as those that have built up the WNBA over the last 20+ years, nothing woke about that imo. She is not racist in the least, but that's not a woke indicator imo, neither am I and I'm certainly not woke....

Woke in the WNBA is over stated imo, just like LGBQ-whatever is over stated with less than 30% indicating that they are. The media pushes the loud and aggressive and their own agendas, regardless of the actual facts of the matter.

There is a long list of current and former players and coaches that give all due respect and credit to Clark, you just have to look past the agenda driven media to see/find them.
Current and former Greats of the NBA also give her the flowers she's earned and deserves:
Bird-Magic-Shak-Barkley-MJ, etc.... I don't recall any of them doing so for other WNBA players, past or current.

It's my belief, that IF you could get a vote that included every current and former WNBA player, that Clark would have a positive result, instead of the negative media derision that's being pushed.

I told you everything I know in my post. The long-standing WNBA Stall warts dis her with regularity. And claimed they don't receive their due regard. I am not talking about Angel Reese. I know what I've seen in the news and Katelyn always responds as the bigger person. I'm really not interested to do any more research on this. I know what I've seen and I am disgusted by their treatment of Katlyn. She's a humble girl and these chicks, taking shots at her are bullies. That is my objective opinion anything beyond that I really don't care to comment on ...

Caitlin is not loved and respected by everyone. Well duh!
But neither are you and I Fres, so I'm good with that.

Aja Wilson (black woman) the current 3x MVP hates on Caitlin getting attention.

Diana Taurasi, (white woman) the all time career scoring leader gived CC props.

Candace Parker (Caitlin just tied her career 3x2 with 3 each) gives CC her props.

I won't bore you with the entire list, but those you see hating on CC is media-madness driven BS.

Clark has some haters, just like Trump has to put up with a certain amount of TDS...
But both Clark and Trump come out on the positive side after the votes are counted.

Good enough for me Fres.

The Media hates on Trump.
The Media hates on Clark.
I hate on the Fake News Media.
The world goes on, no matter the amount of hate, or who's doing it at the time....

I pay attention to what Trump actually does, not what the media says he does.
I pay attention to Clark's utube highlights, not what the media-morons are spewing out.
And of course, I always pay attention to whatever the Fres says here, whether I agree with him or not....

Angel Reese doesn't have a triple double yet.
And Los, it's very unlikely that she will ever have one.
She's a low double-double type, with 40% of her rebounds coming from her own missed brick layups....

But hey, she does have 4 Mil+ Instagram followers, and that's what's most important for an 'influencer' like her...

I think the whole Clark and WNBA thing is a pretty interesting case study. For whatever reason, women’s leagues, not so much the individual sports but the leagues, most notably wnba and women’s soccer, see racial and gender advocacy as part of their mission. Women are just very prone to this stuff I don’t know why. Maybe it’s their nurturing nature, maybe it’s their susceptibility to propaganda. I was actually in a conversation with a mom around here (I live in a big lib haven suburb outside NYC) and we were talking about trans males in women’s sports. And I was saying I think it’s BS and an insult to competitors, and also I don’t want my girls in a locker room or bathroom with dudes with penises flopping around. And I couldn’t believe she thought I was crazy. She was saying she was cool with it (she has a daughter, I have 3). Makes no sense to me but that seems to be the prevailing attitude among liberal women, who of course run the Democratic Party.

So anyway, it’s pretty interesting to see as white a chick, (and generally normal female in appearance) as humanly possible step in and immediately be one of the top players in the league. Early on players and media were basically openly saying that she was overrated because she was white. Players were laying her out with picks and players on the bench were high fiving and laughing. And the narrative was oh she has to earn her place she’s not going to be given special treatment because she’s white, etc…. Again people were just openly saying this stuff on espn.

And of course she’s by far the most marketable player which again everyone was saying it was because she’s white and basically saying that all the great press and ratings she brought (she was boosting attendance like 4x everywhere she went and all the highest rated games were her) was racist and undesirable.

Now everybody sees she’s a great player and basically the league can’t handle it. Rather than just realized they were sent a gift from god that could probably 5x everybody’s paychecks, they’re tying themselves in knots trying to justify and rationalize the original criticism.

So I think it’s pretty interesting. I think it tends to reflect the difference between narrative and actual sentiment and it’s interesting to see it play out where fan appeal and marketability is supposed to be the most important thing.

From the ten minutes I watched on YouTube she's a ball hog, so she's not fixin to get no assists.

She's the media-morons current 'Drama Queen' and so of little consequence otherwise imo.

Besides CC, there are some other very talented players in the W, but Angel ain't one of them so far.

ESPN's Top 25 for the 2025 season:

These are their Top 4 of the Top 25:
A'ja Wilson 6-4 195 - She's a competent PF making a living on easy buckets and RB's, unlike Reese.
Breanna Stewart 6-4 170 - another PF like A'ja.
Napheesa Collier 6-1 179 - a shorter PF but with very solid skills.
Caitlin Clark 6-0 157 - The only PG of the Top 4 that does it all across the stats sheet.
The 1st player in WNBA history to go 3x2 in the 1st game of a season.
The quickest player in W history to have 3 career 3x2's, (41 Gms).
20 Pts - 10 Rbs - 10 Asts - 3 TO's - 4 Blks - 2 Stls

Lisa Leslie - She was the 1st one to dunk in the W is another one of the HoF'ers to stand up for CC.

Maya Moore (Caitlin's B-Ball hero as a kid) on Caitlin's impact.

And just for some 3 Pt fun...

There are more but I'll just leave you with those 2 additions...

Forgive me for being unimpressed with a 6'6" chick with no hops who can barely dunk ...

Dunking is not what she made the HoF on.
And body types, % muscle mass, and all the differences between men and women come into play.
This also means that the women need to have ball skills, not just the ability to jump high to dunk.

To me, dunking has always been the least attractive and/or least impressive move in basketball....
Shooting 3's and dime passing is what impresses me.

And oh BTW, as a rookie, CC had 122 made 3's with 337 Assisits in 40 games,,, but sadly for some, zero dunks....

or it's a lack of athleticism. 5'9" Mookie Betts can dunk spectacularly and bowl a 300 aside from playing like an all-star for the Dodgers ...

Will Rogers -- "It's not that people are ignorant that's the problem, it's that they KNOW so many things that are just not true." 😉
I've even succumbed to that problem on an individual subject or two in the past.... 😎
